Technology equals efficiency. Here at Selecta, we’ve got some great technology being put into play on a daily basis. None of it overly complicated, all of it made to optimise efficiency for our teams and machines on the one hand and to simplify the consumer’s Selecta experience on the other. Selecta software We have developed software that transmits faster, ever more accurate data from our points-of-service. Here’s how it works. Merchandisers are dispatched to clean and fill your on-site vending points. They are equipped with an LTO handheld device, which records sales, refills and cash handling. The data is then transferred to our central system. There, we consolidate all data and process invoices quickly. If you have a problem, we can locate the technician closest to you thanks to his LTT handheld device and dispatch him as quickly as possible. This unique use of technology allows us to minimise downtime with rapid dispatch of technical calls to the nearest technician. Mobile phone technology Technology is also at work to simplify the experience for consumers. In Swiss and Austrian train stations, for example, we’ve got consumers paying by mobile phone. As the mobile phone industry offers more liberal roaming agreements as part of their service this will be a more widespread phenomenon. All over Europe, technology = ease as paying by credit card becomes an everyday option. What better convenience in, say, an airport when you’ve only got time for a quick snack between connecting flights – and no local currency in your pocket? |
