The 1st January 2009 is the date when the Slovakia expects a big step: The introduction of the Euro. The preparation for receiving the Euro has already been running for several months. As one effect a dual price list with the old (SKK) and the new currency (EUR) will be found from than on at each Selecta vending machine.

Another point of this preparation is represented by the selection of the Euro mascot, thus mascot that is in attendance on Selecta during the whole euro campaign. All Selecta staff from Slovakia took part in selection of a mascot name. The main slogan of the selection was: “we build Selecta together!“

The Selecta team spirit was shown in high participation and a high amount of really interesting, creative and funny tips. The yellow Selecta Euro mascot of the campaign is called  €UROŠÍK. Its name has been created from the name of the Slovenian national hero Juraj Jánošík. For more information go to http://www.as-selecta.sk/
